Pediatric Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapy at Kids S.O.A.R. is for kids of all ages. Whether your child has a diagnosis that causes motor delays or just needs a little help catching up with milestones, Stephanie Parr, PT is here to help. Stephanie will evaluate and observe your child while listening to your concerns. Together, a plan of care is established to help your kiddo achieve goals. Stephanie Parr, PT will work on techniques in the clinic and educate your family on how to help your child improve at home.

Physical Therapy Evaluation

During your first visit, Stephanie Parr, PT will perform a comprehensive developmental evaluation to assess your child’s overall development. As a physical therapist, the focus will be on your child’s mobility and gross motor skills, but all areas will be noted.  Background information and your concerns help guide the assessment. Areas that are assessed include but are not limited to: your child’s posture, balance, range of motion, flexibility, strength, muscle tone, ball play skills, and reflexes and equilibrium reactions.  Stephanie will work together with you to establish a plan of care with recommendations for frequency and duration of services. The assessment also helps determine if there is a need for orthotics and/or adaptive equipment to help your child function better. Goals are written to help guide the treatment plan.  You will receive instruction on an individualized home program  in order to start working on the goals after your first visit.

Individual Physical Therapy

After the initial evaluation, individual physical therapy is a one on one appointment in a calming, quiet and low stimulating environment. Sessions may consist of manual therapy, therapeutic activities, and parent education to help your child move better. This family/caregiver centered approach is fun and motivating. Stephanie Parr, PT will help get your kiddo on track with developmental milestones, healing from an injury, or just feeling and moving better in general.
